Boats and Oars: Evolving Gig Economy. We row together because the future depends on it. Historically, a gig boat was a work boat. Rowers would race their gig boat, carrying a captain out to the large vessel ship, incoming off the ocean. The first gig boat to get their captain on board the ship got him a job and that captain would pay the rowers for getting there before anyone else. All the other gig rowers and their captains had to turn around, unpaid, and wait until the next vessel shows up.
There was no prize for second place so they rowed like their lives depended on it.
Some things don’t change. Finding work is a race.
We modern workers pivot from pilot to rower and back as we navigate today’s economy.
We are freelancers, contractors, self-preneurs, entrepreneurs. We are online, inside, outside, everywhere.
Join us as the foundation of a modern and growing economy. Find work smart. Get there first. Work hard.
It’s time we take the middleman’s hand out of our pocket when we seek or post gig work and space.
The traditional economy is yesterday.
